Humans are Photosynthetic*

*Our cells synthesize energy from photons. [a]

Plant chloroplasts use Sunlight to make glucose. [b]

Animal mitochondria use Sunlight to increase energy (ATP). [c]

"In the present study, PBM (Light) increases ATP (energy) immediately after exposure." [d1]

It is urgent that we reckon with the implications of this demonstrable fact.

We are Sunlight Deficient

Today, Americans spend 93% of our time indoors, starving our body of solar energy. [d2]

Animal cells without enough Sunlight wither and become chronically inflamed.

 Sunlight Deficiency

The majority of Americans are Vitamin D Deficient - a biomarker for Sunlight Deficiency.

Are you Sunlight Deficient?

 Energy Deficiency

Artboard 24 copy 4.png

Cells chronically deprived of energy become fatigued and signal for chronic inflammation.

Chronic Inflammation

Artboard 24 copy 5.png

Worldwide, 3 of 5 people die due to chronic inflammatory diseases. [e]

heartbeat line-31.png
Artboard 24 copy 5.png

Chronic Inflammation underpins most chronic diseases.

- Osteoarthritis
- Chronic Pain
- Depression
- Parkinson's
- Dementia
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Obesity
- Cancer
- Stroke
- COPD

The list goes on.

Sunlight Charges our Battery

Our cell's mitochondria (and melanin) absorb photons and increase energy output. [f]

Vitamin D is just one of the physiological necessities of proper Sunlight. [g]

Reckoning with human Sunlight dependency is urgent.

My Bold Prediction:

Global accessibility of human photosynthesis will reduce disease by 80% within a decade.

Dear World,

We are living in the dark.

Humans today absorb a tiny fraction of our required solar energy due to the advent of indoor living and clothing.

Sunlight is a physiological requirement for human life - like water, food, and air

Why does this matter?

Because we can end hundreds of diseases by curing one: Withering - Metabolic degradation caused by chronic sunlight deprivation

Like chronic dehydration, Chronic Sunlight Deprivation has severe consequences on the body; mitochondrial dysfunction, neuron degradation, hormonal imbalances, and much more.

It is as if we have forgotten the necessity of Vitamin C, and we have all developed Scurvy.

And so, I started a Public Benefit Corporation to make photosynthesis accessible and answer your question:

"Why hasn't this been done before?"

Because Light desperately needs a Lorax.

An outspoken advocate to elevate the deadly reality of inaction.
